Writing Competition
The Berkeley Journal of African-American Law & Policy (BJALP) is pleased to announce our second annual Berkeley Prize In Legal Scholarship – open to all law students at ABA-accredited law schools.  BJALP is a vital publication addressing legal and policy issues that predominantly affect African-American communities.  Moreover, BJALP plays a crucial part in the University of California Berkeley’s role as an institution at the vanguard of legal theory and public policy.
We are seeking papers written by law students on topics relevant to African-Americans and minority communities. The Berkeley Prize in Legal Scholarship will be awarded to the law student whose paper is selected for publication in Volume XII (2009-2010) of BJALP.  The prize will include a $1,000 award.
How to apply:
• E-mail your submission to bjalp_submissions@law.berkeley.edu indicating that you are applying for the Berkeley       Prize in Legal Scholarship
• Include a completed draft, resume/CV, and cover letter
• Papers should be between 30 and 50 pages (double-spaced including footnotes)
• Deadline: July 31, 2009
